Why get an ADHD assessment ?

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can affect attention, organization, impulse control, identity and emotional regulation. ADHD can present differently across the lifespan and may look different in children, adolescents, and adults.

  Common chronic difficulties:

  • Trouble with focus, organization, or time management

  • Forgetfulness or difficulty following through on tasks

  • Feeling overwhelmed by daily responsibilities

  • Academic, workplace, or relationship challenges

  • Restlessness, impulsivity, or emotional reactivity

  Benefits of an assessment

  • Provide a clear explanation for ongoing challenges

  • Help guide appropriate supports at university, work, or home

  • Support accommodations (school, CEGEP, university, or workplace)

  • Inform conversations with your physician about treatment options

  • Reduce self‑blame and improve self‑understanding

  • Offer personalized strategies and recommendations

  Recommended for:

  • College/university students over the age of 16 or adults struggling with organization, focus, or burnout

  • Individuals who suspect ADHD but were never assessed earlier in life

  • Those seeking documentation for accommodations or medical follow‑up

  3 - DIAGNOSTIC FORMULATION & WRITTEN REPORT

Following the assessment, the clinician integrates all information gathered and makes a formal diagnostic (in French or English). The report includes:

  • Diagnostic impressions

  • A clear explanation of findings

  • Personalized recommendations for school, work, therapy, or daily life

  • If requested, detailed documentation can be provided to support requests for accommodations in educational or workplace settings, or to share the assessment results with a healthcare provider.

A feedback session follows afterwards, during which the therapist and client review the results together, address any questions, and discuss recommendations and next steps.
