About Me:

I am originally from Ontario where I obtained my B.Sc. at Trent University in psychology. I moved to Montreal ten years ago to complete my M.A. and Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from McGill University and I am a registered psychologist with the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ).

I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including the Griffith Edwards Addiction Center in Montreal, along with hospitals, schools, university counselling centers, and private clinics.

Through these varied roles, I have obtained a high degree of skill in treating a wide-range of psychological problems, including substance abuse, binge eating, low self-esteem, borderline personality, anxiety disorders (including panic attacks, social anxiety, generalized anxiety and phobias) and depression.

My Approach:

My goal when working with you will be to develop a therapeutic atmosphere of safety, trust, compassion and unconditional support, through which I can help you to live a more genuine, meaningful life.  We will work together to uncover your particular psychological challenges and we will develop concrete goals and solutions.  I will help you understand the core issues that are causing your distress. I use a combination of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) to help you change unhealthy thinking patterns and manage intense emotions.
